The long-awaited trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home finally went live early this morning and it was absolutely worth the wait!
But the run-up to the trailer has been anything but smooth. Let’s break down the leak and some of what is in the trailer below.
Rocky Road to Release
Fans have not been this excited since Avengers: Endgame with everyone holding their breath and eagerly guessing when the trailer would go live.
Spider-Man: NWH’s official Twitter page even responded to this crazy hype as fans kept releasing false information about when the trailer would be released.
Then things came to a head on Sunday night as the official trailer leaked far and wide across the web. Sony rushed to get as many copies of the video pulled down from social sites like TikTok and YouTube, but the damage was done and an extremely poor quality, unfinished version of the trailer was already out there and there was no putting it back in the box.
It was after this leak that we got one of the most concrete evidence for the trailer to be released shortly with Tom Holland posting on Instagram, “YOU AIN’T READY!” which got fans even more excited.
And then, just after 2:30am BST, while the Las Vegas Cinema Con was live, the trailer finally went live!
If you haven’t seen it yet, watch it right this second!
Spoiler Alert: What’s in the Trailer?
A lot, and we will take a deep dive on this and more as the movie gets closer and more trailers are released but a lot has been officially confirmed.
No Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire just yet (although some apparent leaked BTS photos are circulating right now), but we did get to see Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock!
The trailer picks up exactly where the after-credits scene left Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Far From Home as his identity has been revealed and that brings a whole host of new problems into his life and the lives of those he loves most.
In an attempt to repair the situation and get things back to the way they were, Peter goes to visit his old friend Doctor Strange seeking a spell to change events and from there, the world literally goes into a nosedive spin of crazy.
With characters from previous Spider-Man franchises, the eerily familiar (Dafoe?) laugh and Green Goblin Pumpkin bomb, Electro thunder shocks, and what we all think is Charlie Cox’s Daredevil appearing as Peter’s lawyer, there is a lot to be uncovered and so much to look forward to.
Luckily, with how late this trailer has been released, we should only be waiting about 4 months until we get to see the whole thing come together.
