Marvel phase 4 is in full swing and fans are eagerly awaiting releases like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which will star the Scarlet Witch, Wanda Maximoff.
If you were pleasantly surprised with the absolute brilliance that was WandaVision, then you’re going to love what, or more precisely, who is coming back to the MCU.
Do you remember that incredibly catchy song about Wanda’s nosy neighbour Agatha?
That’s right! The exciting rumours are now confirmed about a WandaVision spinoff where Agatha Harkness will be the star.
Does that mean more Agatha, more dark humour, and catchy tunes? Yes, yes it does and now you won’t be able to get through the rest of the day without singing “It Was Agatha All Along.”
The series finally had it’s official confirmation on Disney+ day along with 11 other shows being announced or debuting a first look!
What do we know so far?
It does make sense for Agatha to have her own spotlight with the way that WandaVision ended. They wouldn’t, nay couldn’t just leave a character hanging like that, could they? It just wouldn’t make sense, let’s get into what we know so far about this upcoming spinoff. With little else confirmed to work with we aren’t completely in the dark, but almost…
Apart from writer and producer Jac Schaeffer being onboard and the spin-off expected to be a dark comedy – no other details have fully been confirmed as of yet.
Early rumours
Prior to the official announcement of the series, Kathryn Hahn who plays the loveable villain, however, made a nod at Entertainment Tonight’s interviewers by saying “…anything can happen in Marvel. So, who knows?”
Some speculation is also circling around the upcoming 2022 release of Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness where Wanda will return. The speculation is that Agatha Harkness could have her time in cinemas in that time as well.
When speaking with Rotten Tomatoes, Marvel’s own Kevin Feige made a comment about how much of a success Kathryn Hahn was as Agatha Harkness and hinted at her return in the way that those Marvel executives always do.
Feige then said: “You will see Kathryn Hahn in Knives Out 2 next…But within the MCU, it can’t come soon enough. Let’s put it that way.”
When will Agatha: House of Harkness be released?
This could be some time away but we do hope that we won’t have to wait too long.
Especially since we are all excited for this WandaVision spinoff and it looks like Marvel Studios are just as excited.
But whether Agatha first comes back on the big screen, appears in another one of Marvel’s Disney+ series or, debuts in her own spinoff, we know that it will be worth the wait.
